Food Sanitation
Food Sanitation Certification Prep (FOOD 440)
Learn to identify the causes of food-borne illness, identify and apply correct procedures for cleaning and
sanitizing, recognize problems and potential solutions associated with facility, equipment and layout, and
understand the Illinois code related to food service establishments. Successful completion of this course
prepares you to take the state of Illinois exam for Management and Sanitation Training administered on the
second day of class.
Food Sanitation Certification Prep Online (FOOD 4401)
Computer based version of FOOD 440. State of Illinois exam is administered on second day of FOOD 440 class
schedules.
Food Sanitation 5-Hour Refresher (FOOD 441)
In this course, you will refresh your knowledge
of food-borne illness by identifying and applying correct procedures for cleaning and sanitizing; recognize
problems and potential solutions associated with facility, equipment and layout; and understand the Illinois
code related to food service establishments. Successful completion of this course provides the student with a
renewed license. Student must bring current Illinois license to class.

Wastewater Treatment Operator Review Class 3 and 4 (WTR 882)
Study for the Class 3 and Class 4 wastewater operator's license examinations, which are administered by the
Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. To be eligible to test at the conclusion of class, you need three
years of experience for Class 3, and one year for Class 4. Contact IEPA about test eligibility requirements
or changes.
Wastewater Treatment Operator Review Class 1 and 2 (WTR 883)
Study for the Class 1 and Class 2 wastewater operator's license examinations, which are administered by
the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. To be eligible to test at the conclusion of class, you need eight
years of experience for Class 1, and six years for Class 2. Contact IEPA about test eligibility requirements or
changes.
Water Treatment Operator Review Class C and D (WTR 885)
Study for the Class C and Class D water operator's license examinations, which are administered by the Illinois
Environmental Protection Agency. To be eligible to test at the conclusion of class, you need one year of
experience for Class C, and six months for Class D. Contact IEPA about test eligibility requirements or
changes.

Class K Industrial Wastewater Treatment Exam Prep (WTR 888)

Water Mapping and Planning (WTR 896)
The main focus of this class will be integrating new community growth into your existing system efficiently

New System Inspection (WTR 897)
This class covers new system construction, general construction methods and procedures, new construction
inspecting procedures and record keeping, testing and reporting, and pre-construction meetings.(3 Renewal

Corrosion Control for Distribution Systems (WTR 904)
This class identifies the corrosion process and proven measures to reduce its negative impact on metallic

Operating Reports & Applied Math (WTR 898)
This class covers all aspects of IEPA record keeping, reporting, required frequency and procedures, and more.
Mathematics for chemical calculations and well pumping will also be demonstrated. (3 Renewal Training Credits

Routine Chemical Addition (WTR 899)
This class covers chemical addition and testing of potable water (procedures for well water only). All types
of disinfections methods including fluoridation and phosphate addition will be discussed. (3 Renewal Training

Municipal Fire Hydrants (WTR 900)
This class provides an in-depth look at fire hydrants, including hydrant maintenance and repair, hydrant

Leak Detection for Distribution Systems (WTR 901)
This class covers fundamentals on leak detection and leak location techniques using electronic equipment.

This class covers the basics of water storage tank inspection, and discusses the best methods to assess
conditions, specify needed repairs, applicability of cathodic protection systems for interior corrosion

SCADA Systems (WTR 903)
This course explains SCADA systems, demonstrating how to evaluate benefits and limitations in relation to your

Meter Maintenance/Automated Reading (WTR 905)
This class reviews basic maintenance, automated meter reading systems such as touch reading and radio frequency

Real Estate and Construction
Illinois Real Estate Salesperson Qualification (WSPD 428)
In just 45 classroom hours, you can launch a dynamic new career in the ever-growing real estate industry.
This course deals with real estate ownership, contract, agency, title transfer and disclosures, deeds, mortgage
instruments, leasing, and State of Illinois licensing law. Real Estate Transactions is designed to equip
students to participate successfully in the field of property ownership, management, and sales. A required course
for candidates planning to take the Illinois Salesperson License Examination. Course fee includes books and
workbooks.
Introduction: Illinois Broker Pre-Licensing Program
Prerequisite for all Broker courses: Real Estate Transactions or Illinois Salesperson License. All five Broker
classes shall consist of 15 classroom hours. Upon successful completion of the five essential Broker classes,
candidates may sit for the Illinois Broker Examination. Broker class identification numbers are WSPD 448, WSPD 458.
WSPD 468, WSPD 478, and WSPD 488.
Real Estate Appraisal (WSPD 478)
This course covers the process of appraisal with a focus on residential property and value, economic trends,
depreciation, and land value. Course includes methodology, terminology, and procedures of valuing real property.
Pre-requisite: Real Estate Transactions or Illinois Salesperson License.
Advanced Principles (WSPD 468)
This course covers the consumer-centric subjects most recurrent or important in real estate Brokerage.
Discuss escrow, fair housing, agency, disclosure, environmental issues, real estate license law, ethics
and other topics approved by the EAC and OBRE. Pre-requisite: Real Estate Transactions or Illinois Salesperson
License.
Brokerage Administration (WSPD 448)
This mandatory course will include instruction in Illinois real estate law and licensure, listing agreements,
contract forms, forms for closing, title search, and the real estate broker-salesperson relationship.
Contracts and Conveyances (WSPD 458)
Course includes instruction on deeds, fixtures, contracts, land use controls, real estate closings,
foreclosure and redemption, landlord/tenant relationship, cooperatives and condominiums.
Financing (WSPD 488)
Discuss the economics of real estate financing types and sources of financing, interest, liens, foreclosure,
and real property insurance. Topics include sources of mortgage money, mortgage terms and analysis, marketing
and construction of loans.
Condominium and Homeowner Association Law (LLC 1200)
This course is an excellent source of information for board members and managers of condominium, town house,
and homeowner associations. A leading condominium expert will give students an in-depth look at how associations
operate, what their rights are, and how to avoid legal problems.
Home Inspection Training (BG 615)
Launch a lucrative full- or part-time career in home inspection. This course is approved by the State of
Illinois and far surpasses state requirements. Taught by leaders in the home inspection industry, this
comprehensive program prepares you for the state licensing examination. The course provides instruction of the
physical components of a home including soils, foundations, structural components, plumbing, electricity,
roofing, heating and air conditioning, and much more. Also covered is home inspection report writing and
public policy.
How to be Your Own General Contractor (INDM 100)
If you considering building a new home or embarking on a major remodeling project, this seminar that will
enable you to be your own general contractor. This fourteen week seminar will allow you to be much more
involved in the overall building process. You will be in a better position to assure you will receive a
quality job at the best price. Planning and scheduling, creating specifications, understanding the bidding
process, working with an architect, building an energy efficient house, reading blueprints, and understanding
plumbing, electrical, HVAC, frame construction, masonry, and excavation, are just a sample of what is included
in this course.
National Electrical Code Review (ELC 407)
This fourteen week seminar is based on the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI) publication
entitled; 1-& 2-Family Dwellings Electrical Systems. The presentation addresses the requirements of electrical
systems for residential applications that are defined by the National Electrical Code. (NEC) This course is
designed for electrical professionals and is especially helpful for anyone who is interested in taking the
International Code Council (ICC) inspector certification test or the electrical license test in the future.
