Joliet Junior College allows supply chain management personnel the opportunity to complete all five of the certification review courses in less than one year. These courses prepare individuals to successfully complete the examinations and earn the prestigious Certification of Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) awarded by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS). The CPIM will expand your industry knowledge, increase your earning potential, and gain greater industry recognition.

Basics Of Supply Chain Management (APIC 473)
This introductory course for production and inventory management personnel and CPIM candidates provides basic definitions and concepts for planning and controlling the flow of materials into, through, and out of an organization. It explains fundamental relationships among the activities that occur in the supply chain from supplies to customers. Participants will review manufacturing systems, forecasting, master planning, materials requirements planning, capacity management, production activity control, purchasing, inventory management, distribution, quality management, and Just-in-Time.

Detailed Scheduling And Planning (APIC 481)
Focus on the various techniques for material and capacity scheduling. Study detailed descriptions of material requirements planning (MRP), capacity requirements planning (CRP), inventory management practices, and procurement and supplier planning.

Master Planning Of Resources (APIC 480)
Explore the processes used to develop sales and operations plans and identify and assess internal and external demand and forecasting requirements. The course focuses on the importance of producing achievable master schedules that are consistent with business policies, objectives, and resource constraints.

Strategic Management Of Resources (APIC 483)
Explore the relationship of existing and emerging processes and technologies to manufacturing strategy and supply chain-related functions. The course addresses three main topics: aligning resources with the strategic plan, configuring and integrating operating processes to support the strategic plan, and implementing change.
