Department of Labor Promotes Drug-Free Work Week

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) is promoting their annual Drug-Free Work Week to highlight the benefits of a drug-free work environment to employers, workers, and the community.

According to the DOL, 75 percent of the nation's current illegal drug users have jobs and 3.1 percent of them admit to using drugs at work creating safety and quality issues for the companies that employ them. The same is true for those who abuse alcohol.

The DOL is promoting drug-free workplace programs that help employers establish policies, educate workers, deter and detect use. To learn more about these programs, visit http://www.dol.gov/asp/programs/drugs/workingpartners/DFWW-Introduction.asp.
