In today’stuggling economy, employers want workers who can be innovative and creative. But, for many, the management style of their companies does more to kill a new idea than bring it to life.
According to writer Paul Sloan, there are ten ways to crush creativity. He lists the following crushing practices:
- Criticize without listening
- Neglect brainstorming
- Hoard problems
- Practice efficiency over innovation
- Over work yourself and others
- Use the “it isn’t in the plan” excuse
- Look for scapegoats to lay blame
- Outsource change
- Ask production units to manage innovation
- Provide no training
While these practices can be devastating, Sloan does offer some solutions. To learn more, click http://www.managernewz.com/managernewz-21-20030507Tengreatwaystocrushcreativity.html
