Video Footage Shows Electrical Dangers

Sometimes we take safety for granted. We tell ourselves that we've done some procedure a million times without mishap. Then, one day, something goes wrong.

See what happened to two young electrical workers who had such a day: view the video.

After viewing this footage, you may want to know what you can do to prevent this from happening to you or your employees.

First, be sure your employees are knowledgeable. Call Bruce Kuzmanich at (815) 280-1512, or e-mail bkuzmani@jjc.edu, to learn more about Joliet Junior College's NFPA 70E Industrial Employee Workplace Safety Training.

This course is designed to train anyone responsible for operating and maintaining electrical equipment of 600 volts or less as expressed by the Electricity Act, Regulations and Codes of Practice. It conforms to OSHA electrical standards.

The second thing you should do is to make sure your employees are wearing the right protective clothing.

The third thing you should do is share this video with your staff so they won't take safety for granted.
